About The Happy Teeth Project
Our main focus at The Happy Teeth Project is to assist families whose state insurance offers limited or no coverage, particularly in the area of orthodontics. While tooth decay remains one of the most widespread health issues among school-age children in Michigan, we are not only focused on the prevention of dental disease but also on providing access to additional dental services that were previously unobtainable.
Through The Happy Teeth Project, underserved children who may not have had access to essential dental or orthodontic care can now receive oral health education, preventive care, screenings, and treatment plans from dentists, orthodontists, and other volunteer dental professionals in Michigan.

Michigan's Children Need Our Help
Dental and oral diseases are affecting some of Michigan’s most underprivileged children and families with lower incomes. The Happy Teeth Project is committed to addressing these issues in the hope of preventing further complications, such as:
- Gum disease
- Temporomandibular joint pain
- Trauma
- Tooth decay
- Speech disorders
One way we aim to achieve this is by redirecting jaw growth, stretching ligaments, and improving spacing between teeth. Dental issues are the most common chronic health condition among disadvantaged children in Michigan, occurring 5 to 8 times more frequently than asthma. The Happy Teeth Project is here to help.
